| ◎不隨流行趨勢起舞，堅持獨立理念的利物浦新浪潮樂團首張精選 ◎雙CD共收錄包括首支單曲＜Being Somebody Else＞、歷年代表歌曲、現場歌曲、Demo、新歌等33首樂團金曲 ◎曲目超優獲得Contactmusic/NME 9分好評，再奪下The Independent滿分、The Mirror/The Times四星好評推崇 來自利物浦的新浪潮樂團The Coral，不斷在傳統音符中搜尋著迷人音軌，充滿豐富想像力的混入舊式鄉村以及60年代迷幻與民謠、套配現代搖滾的影響，平凡中卻暗藏變化多端、精采萬分的編曲舖排，更有著許多驚喜橋段浮現。 為了增添且探試更多元綺麗音符，團員增設到六名之多的The Coral，由主唱/空心吉他/創作核心James Skelly、主奏吉他/貝斯/小號Bill Ryder-Jones、管樂/鍵盤/合音Nick Power、節奏及他/合音Lee Southall、貝斯/薩克斯風Paul Duffy以及鼓手Ian Skelly等人所組成，2003年客席打擊樂手John Duffy曾短暫加入其中。2002年推出首張同名專輯《The Coral》，直接飆進全英排行Top5位置，獲得水晶音樂獎題名、NME年度最佳專輯第四名的殊榮，立刻打響他們的名號。2003年的《Magic And Medicine》，譜入更多順暢旋律，空降全英排行冠軍寶座。再接再厲發行之《Nightfreak And The Sons Of Becker》(2004)、《The Invisible Invasion》(2005)和《Roots & Echoes》(2007)，全部深受歡迎的打入英國金榜前十名之列。 2008年初Bill宣布離團，The Coral則以五人型態繼續闖蕩江湖，短短六年間締造出的輝煌成績，以《Singles Collection》首張精選來紀念這一路走來的風光歲月。CD1的部分收藏所有排行金曲，包括：一鳴驚人的處女秀＜Goodbye＞，登記英國金榜Top21席次；踩著輕快步伐拿下流行榜第六名佳績的＜In The Morning＞；受到艾美獎喜劇影集「Scrubs /實習醫生風雲」青睞接連選為配樂之＜Dreaming Of You＞以及＜Pass It On＞，聽到從Motown當家女子首席團The Supremes至搖滾第一天團The Beatles的味道；初次挺進英國金榜Top10之林的關鍵＜Don't Think You're The First＞；入選NME雜誌「2001年Top50熱門單曲」第25名的＜Shadows Fall＞；末曲＜Being Somebody Else＞則是貢獻出的全新主打歌，飄散民謠式搖擺舒服律動；CD2的部分則珍貴搜集：多首現場收音作品、保留原始風貌的DEMO、＜Shadows Fall＞的純音樂演繹；未曾發表過，且於英國樂團The Lightning Seeds主腦，同為合作愉快的幕後推手Ian Broudie(Echo And The Bunnymen、The Zutons、The Subways)臥房隨興錄製的＜Seagulls＞；更一口氣再添三首新作，建構在簡單、好聽的基礎上，曲目超優的贏取The Independent滿分+NME(9/10)+The Times(4/5)+Drowned In Sound(7/10)的高度推崇。〈內無原文歌詞〉 資料來源：SONY BMG唱片 |
