| ◎Nu-Metal風潮之霸主Rage Against The Machine的吉他手化名The Nightwatchman所推出的個人作品 ◎請到搖滾界製作大師Brendan O'Brien(Bruce Springsteen、Pearl Jam、Bob Dylan)主控 ◎用簡單吉他拉出民謠音韻，明顯感受試圖向心中偶像巴布狄倫看齊，System Of A Down首席主唱Serj Tankian和深受矚目的鄉村界才子Shooter Jennings，皆前來友情站台 就在全球樂迷引頸期盼稱霸90年代中期以降Nu-Metal風潮之霸主Rage Against The Machine(以下簡稱RATM)，何時能再重出江湖，自2001年主唱Zack De La Rocha宣佈單飛展開個人音樂事業後，RATM即呈現停擺的狀態，不過2007年的重組巡迴演出，對於媒體不時放話他們復合的消息，終於出現一道曙光。擔任吉他手職位的Tom Morello，頻頻有著音樂上的大動作，此回帶來個人作品跟久候的樂迷朋友們見面。 居於Nu-Metal翹楚地位的RATM，就在十年之間，拿下兩座葛萊美「最佳金屬演出」以及「最佳硬式搖滾演出」等獎項加冕，全球締造破千萬的銷售量。雖然RATM宣告解體，但Tom可是一刻不得閒，與其他團員找來Soundgarden樂團的領導人物Chris Cornell合組Audioslave。2002-2006年間陸續問世三張專輯，累積全球八百萬的傲人成績，曾坐上主流搖滾榜亞軍單曲＜Doesn't Remind Me＞，得到48屆葛萊美「最佳硬式搖滾演出」提名。精湛的吉他演繹技巧，獲選滾石雜誌「頂尖20為新生代吉他手」之列，同坐上「史上百大經典吉他手」第26名席位。 這是Tom化名The Nightwatchman發行個人第二張專輯《The Fabled City》，請到搖滾界製作大師Brendan O'Brien(Bruce Springsteen、Pearl Jam、Bob Dylan)主控。完全跳脫RATM和Audioslave時期的風格，用簡單吉他拉出民謠音韻，從＜The Fabled City＞開始，明顯感受試圖向Tom心中偶像巴布狄倫看齊，不慍不火的將情緒平衡掌握；聞到陣陣藍調撲鼻氣息之＜Whatever It Takes＞，從傳統聲調裡頭找尋那份穿透心靈底層之感動；＜The King Of Hell＞、＜The Lights Are On In Spidertown＞等曲目，全以流暢動人的音符貫穿，沒有太過繁複的伴奏，Tom個性十足的嗓音散發如同吟唱詩人般之韻味；同入籍90年代Nu Metal大團名單的System Of A Down首席主唱Serj Tankian，在最迷濛的慢板之作＜Lazarus On Down＞中友情站台，貼出如Tom Waits的暈眩感，形成一股令人沉溺其中的強烈氣流；深受矚目的鄉村界才子Shooter Jennings，於＜The Iron Wheel＞秀出最拿手Country Rock的爽朗調性。〈內附原文歌詞〉 資料來源：SONY BMG唱片 |
