| 6座葛萊美獎都會靈韻才子+「全球20組最佳現場演出樂團」首度合作。 John Legend和The Roots攜手拱出一張精采絕倫的概念特典《Wake Up !》，起源2008年美國總統大選上，兩組人馬的合作下，促使此大碟的計劃催生與順利問市，專輯名稱靈感來自加拿大快速竄起Arcade Fire樂團的專輯《Funeral》中發人省思之動容同名曲。搭建濃烈Funky-Soul音場的〈Hard Times〉，從中還滲入些許南方搖滾的韻味，包覆煽動性強的跳躍節拍；翻唱Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes、入選第一波攻榜之作〈Wake Up Everybody〉，請到全能藝人Common+新世代Neo-Soul美聲歌姬Melanie Fiona助陣；從Pete Rock & C.L.
