| ★ 英國post-punk傳奇，1980年首張經典專輯超值加量再版發行 ★ The Guardian、musicOMH.com一致滿分崇拜；Pitchfork 9.3/10強力推薦；Kurt Cobain (Nirvana)與Peter Buck (R.E.M.)個人最愛 ★ Bonus CD追加收錄英國獨立榜亞軍EP《Testcard》、單曲與B-sides等珍貴曲目，知名樂評人Simon Reynolds專文導聆 Nirvana主唱Kurt Cobain生前欽點最愛：「這張專輯讓人放鬆，與空氣完全融合，美好且讓人愉快的音樂！」 70年代末期post-punk浪潮席捲英國樂壇，而The Fall、Gang of Four、Siouxsie and the Banshees、The Cure與Joy Division所遺留的巨大影響力，在當今新興樂隊的身上依然清晰可見。成軍於1978年的英國樂隊Young Marble Giants(以下簡稱YMGs)，雖然只發表過一張正式專輯《Colossal Youth》，卻被公認是post-punk史上不可忽略的傳奇組合。Stuart Moxham是YMGs的創作主力，他的作品透過女主唱Alison Statton冷冽淡然的嗓音，營造出與其它post-punk樂隊截然不同的面貌--纖弱疏離卻又扣人心弦。Philip與Stuart Moxham兩兄弟對樂器有著絕佳的掌控力，在鍵盤手Peter Joyce加入後，更以他自製的電子合成器，合力完成YMGs跨越時空的經典。1979年YMGs獲得獨立廠牌Rough Trade Records青睞，在其旗下陸續發表EP與首張正式專輯《Colossal Youth》，卻毫無預警地在1980年突然解散。 YMGs雖然只有過極短暫的美麗光景，卻成為許多音樂人心頭上的至愛，Courtney Love曾經與她的樂隊Hole翻唱YMGs的＜Credit In The Straight World＞。此外除了R.E.M.的吉他手Peter Buck，Nirvana已逝的主唱Kurt Cobain，也在1992年與Melody Maker進行的專訪中，明白表示YMGs是他個人最崇拜喜愛的樂隊之一，《Colossal Youth》更是五張影響他最深的專輯之一。YMGs只用三天半的時間完成這張專輯的錄製工作，以最少的預算在最短的時間內，捕捉未經過度加工潤飾的音樂活力。除了原始專輯外，此張由英國獨立廠牌Domino重新發行的雙CD套裝版本，特別在CD2收錄英國獨立榜亞軍EP《Testcard》、單曲《Final Day》以及其它珍貴曲目，完整重現YMGs過去所遺留的動人身影。而專輯內頁由英國知名樂評人Simon Reynolds所撰寫的文案，則是最詳盡精闢的聆聽導引。 資料來源：EMI唱片 |
